The Judges and Judicial Officers for various states are recruited through the competitive examinations conducted within the state. The pattern of competitive examination and the syllabus is generally decided by the High Court of the State. Judicial Service examinations for Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Punjab occur frequently and are preferred by law graduates of Delhi and Haryana to become Civil Judges and Metropolitan Magistrates, etc. Opportunities are also open for entering through a competitive examination into Higher Judiciary for District Judge directly, for the advocates having 7 years of practice in courts and age above 34 years.
The exam for Delhi is Known as Delhi Judicial Service Exam (age 21-32 LLB) and for Haryana, it is termed as Haryana Civil Services (Judicial) Exam (age 21-40 LLB).
Posts are mainly advertised from January to June, for all states of India, for which recruitment is done.

The Academy is widely used by Interns and Students of LLB to get practical knowledge for Practicing best of Advocacy in Courts and with Very Renowned Law Firms of India. Practical knowledge from the preparation of complaints and plaints for filling in courts to the final outcome of the matter is taught. How to file and where to file an application is taught. Mute Courts are held to get exposure for addressing the courts with a command on Spoken English. The Target of such Advocates remains to enter directly in Higher Judiciary (i.e.District judge or a High Court Judge).
Judicial words and phrases and the latest rulings of the Apex court are made available on their tips along with a personality development course to enable them to know the etiquettes and body language while addressing the courts effectively.
It also serves those who want to take coaching for appearing in the entrance examinations to take admission to the LLB Course of reputed institutions. Coaching for best of learning of Law is also taken by them. Admission remains open during the entire year but is confirmed only on the passing of a test with a specified percentage of Marks. The scholarship is offered to the high scorers.
Coaching for Bar Council Examination for registration is also provided.

Chahal Judicial Academy is the premier institute established by the Chahal Group of Institutions, now functioning from Dwarka, Sector 5, Delhi, C-201 Dholadhar Apartment, Phone 9871891602. primarily to serve those who deserve to enter as officers (Judges and Magistrates etc.) into Judicial Service, but cannot afford to pay the hefty fees for coaching. It imparts the best training to Practice best advocacy in courts and to prepare them for Direct Entry into Higher Judiciary. The dreams of many students who wish to achieve the intended honorable status remain unfulfilled because of a lack of funds demanded by the institutes as fees for the proper guidance. Courses and Duration
Prelim-cum-Main course for State Judiciary commences at the start of every quarter of the year. The subjects taught under this course are General Studies, English and Law. Minimum desirable duration of course at the academy is 6 months. However, aspirants are advised to plan at least 2 years before the examination for judiciary for easy cracking and success without stress.
In the first week of a quarter of every year, we begin new batches for the exam course.
Entry to the professional courses of Advocacy is also on a quarterly basis. It is best to devote minimum 12 months before passing LLB and get minimum 6 months before registering as an advocate with a Bar Council successfully after passing the mandatory test for registration with the Bar council as told by the expert Mr.Gurman Chahal Advocate.
Delhi Judicial Services Exam Pattern:
The examination will be conducted in three phases:
Phase I – Preliminary Exam
Phase II – Mains Exam (Written)
Phase III – Viva Voce
Phase I – Preliminary Examination
- You will face the Preliminary exam first, which is an objective test of 200 marks.
- This will act as a screening test.

Language
- This is to test your knowledge and power of expression in English.
- There will be Negative Marking.
- You will be given two passages for translating from English to Hindi (in Devanagari Script) and vice versa.

Section II – Civil Law I
You will be asked questions based on the Indian Contract Act, Indian Sale of Goods Act, Indian Partnership Act, Specific Relief Act, Hindu Law, Mohammadan Law, Delhi Rent Control Act and Law of Torts.
Section III – Civil Law-II
You will be asked questions based on Civil Procedure Code, Law of Evidence, Law of Limitation & Law of Registration.
Section IV – Criminal Law
You will be asked questions based on Criminal Procedure Code, Indian Penal Code & Indian Evidence Act.
**Minimum marks are 40% in written paper and aggregate of 50% to qualify for Viva Voce. Relaxation of 5% each has been made for SC/ST/PwD.
Phase III – Viva Voce :
- Viva Voce (Interview) will carry 150 marks.
- You need to score at least 50 % (Relaxable by 5% for RC) to qualify.
- Aggregate of the marks obtained by you in both Viva and Written exam will determine your position.
